What is NVSO?
NVSO is a local program of Special Olympics of Massachusetts (SOMA). We are committed to supporting athletes with special needs, through training, coaching and competition through a variety of seasonal sporting events.

Where are the sporting events located?
Venues change depending upon field, gym or pool availability. Most events are held in Westford or nearby towns. Please see the Current Events and Past Events pages for location details.
How long has NVSO existed?
NVSO was formed officially in February of 2006 and has been running programs since the fall of 2006.
How is NVSO related to Special Olympics Massachusetts?
NVSO is a local program of Special Olympics Massachusetts. The state organization provides coordination of competitions, guidance and support to local progams like NVSO.
How do athletes train and compete?
Training occurs over a 6 to 10 week period sometimes followed by single or multi-day regional and state wide events.
How much does it cost to join NVSO?
There are no fees for athletes to join NVSO. NVSO relies on fund raising and contributions to pay for training, event fees and other expenses.
