Nashoba Valley Special Olympics (NVSO) is part of Special Olympics Massachusetts North Section. Special Olympics sprang from the simple philosophy that all people benefit from participation in sports. NVSO is located in Westford, MA, and is committed to supporting athletes with special needs; with training, coaching and competition through a variety of seasonal sporting events. We are a non-profit, volunteer organization affiliated with the Roudenbush Community Center.
NVSO is open to athletes between the ages of six and eighteen. We look to our community to provide volunteer support such as organizing, coaching, and partner pairing. Special Olympians are assigned partners who assist them in each event. More importantly, these partners provide the athlete with encouragement and friendship. Most of our partners are teenagers from the community. NVSO enables both the Olympian and the typical teenager to see a world in which everyone is respected and included.
